Hey, my name is Sabah Essak and i’m 24 years . Teen Zone was so much more than an after-school program for me. It became a place where I grew, built confidence, formed meaningful relationships, discovered opportunities, and, most importantly, found a community that believed in me.
Looking back now at the little girl who first walked through those doors, I realize just how much Teen Zone changed the course of my life. It gave me people who supported me, encouraged me, challenged me, and helped me see possibilities for myself that I may not have seen on my own.
Some of my most meaningful childhood memories, friendships, and early opportunities came from Teen Zone. The impact didn’t stop when I got older, it’s something I still carry with me today.
I’m incredibly grateful to have grown up in a program that invested in me and so many other young people. Teen Zone helped shape the person I am today, and I’ll always be proud to say I’m a Teen Zone OG.
